About Us

Morton S. Kahlenberg, M.D., F.A.C.S. Dr. Morton S. Kahlenberg, MD, FACS, obtained his medical degree from McGill University and completed his general surgery training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then completed 2 years of NIH funded research and his surgical oncology fellowship at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. He joined the faculty of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1999 and served as the chief of surgical oncology. He elected to develop a community practice, gave up a tenured faculty position and created Surgical Oncology Associates of South Texas in 2008. Dr. Kahlenberg is recognized by his peers as one of the nation’s foremost surgical oncologists. He has numerous publications and has served on national editorial boards of the leading cancer journals. He has also been featured in several magazines including San Antonio Monthly and San Antonio Magazine and is consistently recognized as one of San Antonio and the region's Best Doctors.
